Disgruntled Writer Rushes To Finish Essay By Tonight

WTF
Disappointed. That is all I can say when I looked at Ole BRATs.My team's article was so heavily edited I almost did not recognize it.I must have flipped through the pages for quite some time before I noticed the headline, which I chose.Jia Wen's piece about the materials used to build the home was reduced to 3 paragraphs. The opening was not what we intended.Me?I could not find a single thing that I wrote. This is definitely hurting my self esteem and now I goddamn doubt my future in writing. But hey, failure is the first step to success,right?...Right?

I have really mixed reactions towards this camp.First of all,I am pissed that I was misled into joining a fun camp when it was actually a team building camp. Therefore, there were an awful points system, occasional ear bashings and too much strict control over what we do.However,I got to cross a suspension bridge for the first time and stood witness to Chitirra actually completing the obstacle course. The Best Female Participant award was rightfully hers. The major grouse I have with this camp is the organiser and facilitators.Mr Lim was a real jerk and his team were little Nazis. In fact the only highlight of this camp was the awesome truck ride to the bus on the last day.It was better than a roller coaster. For more photos, visit my Facebook page.It will take a while due to *cough*laziness*cough* so please be patient.
Post-BRATs Withdrawal Syndrome
It has been a week since Malacca but I still can't move on.I had a lot of fun and this time I felt like I did came home a changed person.Maybe not attitude-wise but professional-wise.The journos really opened my eyes to everything I need to know about mass media. And Colin Goh is the awesomest guy I've ever met. From the way he talked, you'd want to leave your home behind and join him in his endless crusade towards better conservation of Heeren Street's old buildings. And all the people I met were a great bunch of guys(except Stanley.Bloody motormouth.Shit,he better not read this).I definitely left Malacca with some solid memories.I hope I do get picked for the year-end camp. Can't wait to meet all the guys again.Till then, all I have are a shirt,a notebook full of unreadable scribblings and no goddamn photos.
