Without a doubt,2009 was a great year for gaming and 2010 will be no different either.But with the price of originals today,many just can't afford them and would resort to buying from pirates.This practice should be condemned,as the developers have spent many resources making those games.

Thankfully,not all Malaysian gamers fall into the Asian stereotype.There's Ben Chan for example,owner of PS3 games and Blu-Ray movies rental service,Blackmango Games.

Unlike Gamer's Hideout,a popular video game franchise with stores at Cineleisure and Tropicana Shopping Centre,BMG does not have a time limit for renters to use their products.Instead,all a renter has to do is pay the refundable deposit,pick up the game and pay a monthly fee.Other than that,they can rent as many games as they desire.

BMG currently offers three packages,each differing based on the gamer types.Below is the pricing and conditions lifted from the website itself.



"Option 1: The hardcore gamer

1-game package


Refundable deposit: RM180

Monthly fee: RM50

Choose 1 game from either the Game A, B or blu-ray list, play til you drop, return it and
pick another game. No time limit.


2-game package


Refundable deposit: RM320

Monthly fee: RM80


As above, except you get to take 2 games out.


Members who subscribe to the Hardcore Gamers option may alternate between games and
movies at their preference. No limits to the number of titles per month, subject to a
maximum of 1 title/game out each time for the 1-game option and 2 titles/games for the
2-game option. You get the best of both worlds! For 1 fixed monthly fee, you can enjoy an
unlimited number of PS3 games and blu-ray movies!

Option 2: The basic gamer

The Game B catalog consists of older titles so if you're not in a hurry to play the latest games
or if you're not interested in watching blu-ray movies, this may suit your gaming needs.
1-game package


Refundable deposit: RM100

Monthly fee: RM30

Choose 1 game from the Game B list, play, return it and pick another game from the list.
No time limit.


2-game package


Refundable deposit: RM200

Monthly fee: RM60

As above, except you get to take 2 games out.

Option 3: The casual gamer


Refundable deposit: RM180 per game.

OR you may use a copy of your own PS3 game as deposit. The game can be used for partial or full deposit
depending on the value of the title.

Rental fee: RM10 for the 1st night, RM2 for subsequent nights


Prepaid option: RM60 for 30 nights' rental (flat RM2 per night).

You may stop and start anytime you want as long as there is credit in your account.
No deductions from your credit are made if you are not renting any game.

Time limit: The prepaid credit expires in 6 months.
