I hate to admit it,but being a Singaporean does have its perks. No religious zealots protesting against an international act for being too 'provocative'.No litter on the streets in sight. No unannounced delays and price hikes in public transport.
Now,our neighbours down south have something else to boast about to their Asean counterparts.Animax Asia,or more accurately Animax Singapore, has the Spike TV Video Game Awards 2009 among its lineup of 2010 shows.Starhub is the only media station in South East Asia to hold exclusive right towards the screening of the event.
The Spike TV VGAs is arguably the most prestigious awards show dedicated to gaming around.Though it has been plagued by endless accusations of handing nominations and wins to undeserved studios, many still tune in to the proceedings each passing year, making it one of the network's highest watched programmes.

Personally,I'm rooting for either Assassin's Creed 2 or Arkham Asylum to take away most of the honours that night. However, there is a trace of disappointment in me over the choice of nominees this year.It is clear that Spike TV is catering to the general public instead of gamers,as evident by the A-List stars dominating the Best Voice and Best Performance categories.Bad voice acting from Megan Fox and Shia Labouef overshadow gamer favourite Claudia Black, who has voiced characters in 2 of the biggest games of the year(Uncharted:Drake's Fortune,Dragon Age).Nonetheless,I'm stoked for this show and am highly anticipating the videos on Youtube, eventhough it would not be as awesome as watching it on the bigger-screened television.
